MyGrowthStories is an independently operated plant collection and journaling service based in Sweden.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using MyGrowthStories, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

Do not create an account or continue using the service if you do not agree to these terms.

You must be legally able to enter into an agreement to use the service. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you should use the service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information and keeping your login credentials secure.

You must not share your password with another person or allow someone else to use your account without your permission.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless the activity resulted from a security failure within MyGrowthStories.

4. Permitted use

MyGrowthStories may be used to create and maintain records relating to plants, collections, growth, provenance, lineage, measurements, photographs, and related memories or observations.

You may use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.

5. Prohibited use

You must not use MyGrowthStories to:

• Break applicable laws or encourage unlawful activity
• Upload content that you do not have the right to use
• Infringe copyright, privacy, publicity, database, trademark, or other rights
• Publish private or personal information about another person without an appropriate legal basis or permission
• Upload abusive, threatening, hateful, fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawfully discriminatory content
• Upload malware, malicious code, or content intended to damage or disrupt the service
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers, databases, or other systems
• Probe, scan, overload, scrape, or interfere with the service in an unreasonable or harmful manner
• Impersonate another person or falsely represent your identity or affiliation
• Use the service to send spam or conduct unsolicited commercial activity

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you add to MyGrowthStories, including your photographs, notes, measurements, records, and other collection information.

You are responsible for the content you upload and for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions needed to use it.

Adding content to MyGrowthStories does not transfer ownership of that content to MyGrowthStories.

7. Permission to operate the service

You grant MyGrowthStories a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, copy, process, resize, back up, transmit, and display your content only as necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and provide the service.

This permission allows the service to perform necessary functions such as creating image thumbnails, displaying your collection, producing exports, maintaining backups, and showing content that you choose to make public.

This licence does not permit MyGrowthStories to sell your content or use it for unrelated third-party advertising.

The licence ends when your content is deleted from the active service, except where limited copies remain temporarily in backups or where continued retention is legally required.

8. Private and public content

Your account and collection are private unless you choose to make a collector profile or individual plant story public.

When you make content public, you understand that it may be viewed by anyone with access to the relevant profile or shared link.

Public content may be copied, saved, indexed, screenshotted, or shared by other people or services outside the control of MyGrowthStories.

You can make a story private again or disable your public profile through the service. Previously copied or shared versions may remain available elsewhere.

9. Content moderation and reports

MyGrowthStories may review public content when it is reported, appears to violate these terms, or may create a security or legal risk.

Content may be restricted or removed where there is a reasonable basis to believe that it is unlawful, infringes another person's rights, or violates these terms.

To report public content or suspected misuse, contact contact@mygrowthstories.com and include enough information to identify the relevant profile, story, or content.

Reports will be considered in good faith and appropriate action will be taken based on the circumstances.

10. Suspension and account termination

Access to an account may be restricted or suspended where reasonably necessary to:

• Protect the service, its users, or another person
• Investigate suspected misuse or a security incident
• Respond to unlawful content or activity
• Enforce these terms
• Comply with a legal obligation or valid legal request

Where reasonably possible and legally permitted, the reason for a restriction or suspension will be explained to the affected user.

An account may be permanently terminated for serious or repeated violations of these terms.

Immediate action may be taken where necessary to prevent harm, unauthorised access, unlawful activity, or disruption of the service.

11. Exporting and deleting your data

You can download an export of your collection through Account settings.

You can also permanently delete your account through Account settings.

Account deletion removes your account, associated collection records, and uploaded files from the active service.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in the three most recent automated backups until those backups are replaced through the normal daily backup cycle.

You are encouraged to export any collection information you wish to keep before deleting your account.

12. Availability and changes to the service

MyGrowthStories is an independently operated service that continues to be developed and improved.

Features may be added, changed, limited, replaced, or removed where reasonably necessary for development, security, legal compliance, reliability, or sustainability.

Reasonable efforts will be made to keep the service available, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, software updates, technical failures, security incidents, hosting problems, or events outside reasonable control.

13. Backups and responsibility for copies

MyGrowthStories creates automated backups to help protect against accidental data loss and support service recovery.

Backups are a protective measure but do not guarantee that every item of content can always be restored.

You should maintain your own copies of important photographs and information. The collection export feature can be used to download a copy of your stored collection data.

14. Free service and future paid features

MyGrowthStories is currently provided without an account fee.

Paid plans or optional paid features may be introduced in the future.

You will not be charged unless you knowingly choose a paid service and are shown the applicable price and payment terms before purchase.

Any paid service will be subject to additional information about pricing, payment, renewal, cancellation, and applicable consumer rights.

15. No professional advice

MyGrowthStories is a record-keeping and journaling service.

Information stored, displayed, or shared through the service should not be treated as professional botanical, agricultural, conservation, legal, medical, financial, or other specialist advice.

You remain responsible for decisions relating to your plants, collection, purchases, propagation, import, export, sale, or compliance with applicable laws.

16. Third-party services and links

MyGrowthStories may depend on third-party hosting, email, domain, network, storage, and other infrastructure services.

The service may also contain links to websites or services operated by other parties.

MyGrowthStories is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or privacy practices of independent third-party websites or services.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

MyGrowthStories is provided on an "as available" basis.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, no guarantee is made that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, complete, or free from errors.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including any mandatory consumer rights that may apply.

18. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MyGrowthStories is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss resulting from use of or inability to use the service.

This may include loss resulting from service interruption, unauthorised account access, user error, third-party services, or loss of content.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

19. Ending the service

MyGrowthStories may eventually be discontinued if continuing to operate it is no longer reasonably possible.

Where reasonably possible, advance notice will be provided and users will be given an opportunity to export their collection data before the service closes.

Immediate closure or restriction may be necessary where required by law, security concerns, infrastructure failure, or circumstances outside reasonable control.

20. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the service, applicable law, security requirements, or operating practices change.

The date at the top of this page will be updated when revised terms are published.

Material changes may also be communicated through the website or within the service where appropriate.

Continuing to use the service after revised terms take effect means that the revised terms apply to your continued use.

21. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law, without limiting any mandatory rights you may have under the laws of the country where you live.

Nothing in these terms prevents you from using any court, public authority, consumer dispute service, or other remedy available to you under applicable law.
